September was birthday month here at Better Today Health Coaching! Yesterday was officially another year around the sun for me, and earlier this month, Better Today Health Coaching turned one! I honestly can’t believe it’s been a year already! I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun 🙂
Year 32 was a pretty interesting year for me on a personal level. The best part was getting married, hands down. Although it didn’t happen exactly how we planned (thanks Covid!) it was still the BEST day. Our intimate ceremony and celebration was laid back, stress-free, and just perfect. I feel so lucky to have found someone I’m genuinely excited to spend the rest of my life with, and I will always remember the day we stood in front of our nearest and dearest and vowed to love each other forever.
Other highlights of the year include graduating from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, moving closer to my family, Scott getting a new job that he loves, becoming an aunt and godmother to my favorite little girl, and spending quality time with my family and friends- even if that was sometimes via Zoom. I’ve always known I had amazing family and friends, but it became even more apparent as they all stepped up to help Scott and I navigate wedding planning during a pandemic. I appreciate the people I have in my corner more than they’ll ever know, and I think the coronavirus situation has actually brought me closer (albeit not physically) to the people I love the most.
On the business side of things, wow, I can’t believe it’s already been a year since BTHC was born! Considering I had absolutely no business experience before this adventure, I’m pretty proud of how far this little company has come. I’m definitely still learning, but it’s been such a pleasure to help my clients reach their health goals. I love getting a message from a client telling me they tried a recipe I shared and loved it, or they followed a tip I gave them and it helped. I wanted to become a health coach to show the world that being healthy doesn’t have to be hard, and watching my clients blossom into healthier humans is such a joy.
Writing this blog and sharing recipes, tips, and tricks on my Facebook page has been really enjoyable for me as well. It’s been fun to interact with my followers and give you all a little taste of what I do for my clients. This month I facilitated my first online nutrition challenge, where I gave a healthy dose of nutrition education, with some challenges to help group members make changes to their daily routines. I had a lot of fun with it, and hope to do something similar again later this year!
Overall, I’ve learned a lot about myself over the last year, and I’m excited about what lies ahead. While I’m not exactly sure what to expect from year 33, I hope it brings growth for BTHC, lots of time with family and friends, and continued health and happiness for myself and all of you!
